Over the years many have asked how do I obtain documents pertaining to my military experience. Listed below is some helpful information that addresses many of these questions.
1. Obtaining Military Service Records/ Replacement of Medals - Military Records -SF 180
2. Obtaining Monthly Unit Rosters.
Monthly Rosters through 1966 are located at the Marine Corps Historical Center. The records are arranged by month and year, and list the officers and enlisted men within a unit at the company level. These documents may be examined in person or may be requested in writing, one month and year per letter. As soon as one request is received, another may be submitted. In the written request state clearly what monthly roster you are requesting ie Alpha Company 3rd Reconnaissance Battalion for the month of September 1966

Monthly Rosters from 1967 forward are located at Quantico, VA. They are available by written request only. The procedure above applies. Send requests to:
